Neuro-inclusive care
ERP-based somatic therapy that helps you to work through intrusive thoughts, compulsions, and burnout.
Does this sound like you?

You’re constantly checking, washing, or redoing things just to feel ‘safe’

You spend hours performing rituals that feel mandatory and exhausting

You get trapped in endless loops of doubt, worry, or “what ifs”

You feel a deep sense of responsibility for preventing possible catastrophes

You’re either rigidly following rules or completely avoiding triggers

You’re exhausted from hiding these behaviors or justifying your anxiety
OCD Therapy in New York helps you to challenge intrusive thoughts, reduce the grip of compulsions, and reclaim your life from constant anxiety.
How my sessions work
A different kind of therapy
Evidence-based ERP combined with somatic work to help you to feel safe in your body and your mind.

We Map Your Unique Loop
Together we understand exactly how your intrusive thoughts and compulsions connect, what triggers them, why they feel urgent, and how your body responds to this experience.

ERP – Your Way, Your Pace
We gradually challenge the thoughts and compulsions together, always at a pace that feels manageable. Never rushed. You’re always in control.

Somatic Work for Real Relief
We work directly with your nervous system: through breathing, movement, and body awareness. So that the healing happens in your body, not just in your mind.
Before we dive into anything,
let’s just talk. In our free 30-minute session, we’ll explore what’s been happening for you, and how I might be able to help. You’ll get a feel for how I work, and if we are good match.
The goal is not to overwhelm you, but to move forward in a way that is sustainable for you.
About me

A therapist that focuses on the nervous system
LCSW Licensed Therapist
ERP Specialist
Hi there! I’m Amalia, a Clinical Social Worker with over 14 years of experience.
I’ve spent my career working with people struggling with intrusive thoughts, compulsions, and anxiety. In that time, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful your mind can be, both in creating obstacles, and in healing.
But this understanding alone isn’t enough. In order for the healing to fully integrate, you need to feel safe in your body, in this space, and in the process.
That’s why I combine evidence-based ERP with somatic work.

Understanding the loop
This is a space where you don’t have to filter yourself.
We look at how your environment, your identity, and your nervous system interact, and together we discuss what supports you.

Anxiety increased
A thought or trigger sends an urgent signal through your nervous system.

Compulsion
You act to reduce discomfort, mentally or physically, as fast as possible, often without even realizing.

Temporary relief
The relief reinforces the loop, teaching your brain that this is the way to stay safe.

The pattern sticks
Over time it becomes automatic, this is the loop we need to interrupt.
ERP therapy helps you gradually slowing down the time between a trigger and a response to recognize the compulsion.
My Method
What is ERP therapy?
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is a structured, evidence-based treatment for OCD.
- Gradually facing fears
- Reducing compulsions
- Building tolerance for uncertainty
Over time, your brain learns it doesn’t need to react the same way.
more than just a conversation
Why not traditional talk therapy?
My work also includes a somatic (body-based) approach. Addressing the following:
Urgency
tension
Shutdown
Overwhelm
We work with these responses directly, so that the change is felt – not just talked about.
OCD Therapy in New York helps you challenge intrusive thoughts, reduce the grip of compulsions, and reclaim your life from constant anxiety.

— Sarah, 28 | Buffalo, NY
“As an ADHD person, every other therapist made me feel broken. Amalia sees my neurodivergence as part of my genius, not something to fix. She adapted everything to how my brain actually works. It changed everything.”
